Principal's Message...
Elk Mound is a community that has taken great pride in its schools. The district serves approximately 1,200 students, with 500 at Mound View. The district students are housed in three buildings which are all in close proximity to each other. This allows the district to share resources and offer unique experiences such as swimming to our students. The school board, administration and staff work to foster a collaborative partnership with parents and community. We have the privilege and responsibility to serve as facilitators for the nurturing and development of your amazing children; academically, physically, socially, and emotionally. We are committed to providing opportunities, which will assist children in making thoughtful and responsible decisions when solving problems. Thank you for your interest in Mound View Elementary. I look forward to getting to know you and your child personally. Please feel free to stop in and introduce yourself and contact me if you have any questions. We are here to help! Your partner in education - Eric Hanson

Appealing Curriculum
English Language Arts
Our English Language Arts instruction is based on the Wisconsin State Standards for English Language Arts. We provide many opportunities for students to authentically read and write in order to build knowledge through an integrated approach. Our science of reading aligned Amplify CKLA resource provides students with explicit instruction in foundational skills while fostering a love of reading and writing.
Mathematics
The Wisconsin Standards for Mathematics provide the foundation for math instruction at Mound View. Students engage in solving real world mathematical problems to build a deep understanding of number sense. There is also a strong focus on developing basic facts and skills. We utilize the resource Eureka: A Story of Units to provide consistent math instruction in all grades.
Enrichment Opportunities
We believe in the importance of educating the whole child. To accomplish this we value the special subjects of art, music and physical education. We also place an emphasis on technology and promote the use of technology in our instruction. All students have access to Chromebooks continuously throughout the day.
School Management
We believe in a school management plan developed around eight character traits that allows the students to reflect upon their behavior. A daily morning message delivered by the principal reinforces these character traits. We believe in recognizing positive behavior.
